Self-priming pumps for emptying tanks

IP69K-rated pumps for the food industry

The self-priming pump is specifically designed to transfer liquids containing air or gases without losing its pumping capacity.

Specifically, this type of pump can independently eliminate the air in the suction duct during the start-up phase.
It is generally used to empty tanks, where air or gas mixes with the liquid in the suction duct.
The air sucked into the pump emulsifies with the moving liquid contained in the pump body.
The air-liquid emulsion is pushed into the ignition chamber where the lighter air separates and exits the delivery tube; the heavier liquid falls back into circulation.
Once all the air is ejected from the suction duct, the pump gets triggered and works like a normal centrifugal pump.

The sanitizable AISI 316 L stainless steel self-priming pumps are recommended when effective cleaning is required for food safety and excellent resistance against corrosion.
They provide high production quality, robustness and long-term reliability, considerable wear resistance, direct coupling with electric motors and low prices.

Self-priming pumps

Smooth
surfaces and specific seals allow to widely meet the IP69K classification (the highest degree of protection for a pump); ideal solution for CIP (Clean-in-place), SIP (Sterilization-in-place) applications and high-pressure washes (even with high-temperature water and/or with the addition of aggressive detergents), in a humid environment and in all sites where cleaning is planned on site, guaranteeing efficiency over time.

It is assembled in modules, which allows, over time, to replace the worn mechanical seal, favoring total inspection and maintenance. The volute and pump body are polished in order to limit turbulence and significantly reduce the noise that self-priming pumps produce.
This leads to higher quietness and security.

  • Whenever possible, all parts in contact with the product are CNC machined with a degree of roughness RA less than 1.2 microns, ensuring a finish in accordance with the indications of hygiene standards
  • Externally sanitizable pump
  • Modular system of components, without welds (except in the connections)
  • Rapid disassembly of the mechanical seal thanks to the removable seal door (avoids having to disassemble the entire pump to replace the seal)
  • Customizable suction and delivery connections
  • Wide range of mechanical seal materials for the different types of liquids pumped
  • High priming capacity at start-up
  • Applicable powers: 3.0 – 4.0KW 4Poles; IEC 100– 112
  • Degree of protection IP69K
  • Flow rates: 1 – 25 m ³/h
  • Suction height: up to 7-8 meters (ideal for applications where the pump is positioned above the liquid level)
  • Automatic priming: priming capacity without manual intervention (ideal for operations in difficult conditions)
  • Limited noise thanks to careful design and internal polishing
  • Liquid temperature: -10 +90 °C
  • Robust construction: corrosion and wear-resistant materials for long operating life demand
